6/2 Profile, roof time and 3rd lines
“This is all about Trust at the personality level. Everything about the 6th line is about trust.
That’s why they are so terrific in combination with the 5. If the 5 delivers something that’s practical the 6 automatically will resonate to that. You know, they can trust something that they can practically understand. They just can, and the only way to impress a 6 is to be able to bring them something that they can actually trust, not something that they are unsure of. That’s why they are such good authorities. If you bring them something that is uncertain they will know instantly that it is uncertain, and they will let you know that it is uncertain. That’s their job. They have to be able to trust it, and if they trust it then they can be a real authority in their objectivity. So, trust for them is essential.
These are the children of the man from Missouri: “Show me, show me, show me...” These are the little kids that play ‘show and tell’. “Let’s play doctor.” “Show me.” It’s all “show me”. And, of course, if you can show them and it works then you’ve got them on your side. It’s always nice to have a 6 on your side – they are really good. They can fix your reputation if you’re a 5. They are reputation fixers. Everybody is saying, “Oh, that 5, they are terrible.” And the 6 says, “No, they are not.” They are really nice. They have deep impact on the community that way but they can’t say that just to say that. They have to be able to trust in their own recommendation. That’s the whole thing. And if you can’t get to them at that level, if they don’t trust, they’re never going to back you up – it’s just not going to be there...
So when that 6 is nurtured correctly and they see: “Look, every time something doesn’t work, instead of thinking something terrible has happened to you, have a celebration.” “I learned something new today! This doesn’t work. Isn’t that great? You know, I found out something else that didn’t work today. Wow!” But we don’t think that way. And then all the 3s and the 6s suffer from that lousy propaganda: “What do you mean you found out something that doesn’t work? When do you find out something that does?” That’s not their job then. Their job is to find out all those things that don’t work, and that includes relationships and that includes jobs.
So that Trust or Not – their career opportunities come when they get up on the roof because when they get up on the roof they realise something: they have actually learned from all that
experience. I mean, they get it They are not fools – they get it. They suddenly see: “Aha, this persons wants to know this from me and I’ve been there – I can tell them.” They slowly get it that they have authority because they’ve been through experience. And then they slowly can begin to respect themselves and that period of their life. Now if we nurture our children properly who carry this kind of profile that isn’t going to be a difficulty for them. They are going to see that it’s party time until they are 28. And then the party is over. And then they can organise parties for others. That’s it, and they can go that way and not feel like they are carrying some enormous burden, because they are not. And they don’t have to carry this horrible pessimism inside of them that says that everything is terrible because it doesn’t work. Which is really a joke for these people – because that’s their gift.
As long as they are not on the roof they are always depleting resources. It’s one of those things to understand about their turmoil. In other words, that as a security strategy they can get very depressed by seeing that they don’t seem to be able to make ends meet. There is traditionally a lot of indebtedness in this. These are the kinds of people that run around for the first 28 years and then pay off the debts for the next 20 while they are up on the roof. Now, of course, that’s OK, if they know that that’s all right. In other words, if they know that it’s going to be expensive to be chaotic and they may not be able to cover it themselves, not to feel burdened. Because when they get up on the roof they’ll make it all back. And they will be able to make good on that. After all, when they get on the roof you can trust them. That’s the joke with the 6/2. Don’t lend them money when they are under 30! They will give it back, but you are going to have to wait a long time until they are up on that roof.
When they get on the roof, when they begin to trust in themselves, that’s when they become great Nourishers. They have this tremendous potential to be able to nourish. And what they nourish is the transpersonal. In other words, the gift of being able to say that this one or that one or this thing or that thing is really correct and it’s good for you but that thing over there doesn’t work, so don’t bother. This is how they nourish, and they nourish in a very broad field. After all, a transpersonal cross – they can have a deep and lasting impact on all kinds of people once they are up there on that roof. And again, there is the seduction in their whole life. The roof is such a comfortable place to be. It’s such a nice place to be. It’s cosy – you’ve got it all set up, you don’t have to scramble, you don’t have to worry. All those things coming to you naturally. You can begin to see yourself as a real role model. And then the axe falls [time to leave the roof], and it’s like: “Well, do I really have to? Is there anybody that is watching? Do I have to?” “Yes, there is no choice.” Tough.”
