Can you reflect without judgement - for the next 3 weeks? (and make no sweeping promises)
Hey so, the end of the calendar year (but not the solar cycle) is upon us.
Have never really been someone who’s much about considering the past at a certain time of year.
Calendars and I are not especially well acquainted 🤷🏻♀️
One day blends into the next, one month and then one year follow suit.
Wondering as I type this if that phenomenon could be related to my 3x Gate 47 activations, which are always switched on (my defined Ajna) and have the quality of scanning the pieces and ultimately ‘making sense’ of the past as their flavor.
In other words, just another Tuesday …
And of course my Grinch gate approves (of skipping all that) - it just wants to get on with things, what is all this celebratory rigmarole anyway 🤣🙃🤷🏻♀️
But I do like that the Rave New Year gives us a break from the torture of New Year’s resolutions… and has a perspective to offer re. why it’s possibly an in-opportune moment to be doing such things anyway (besides the detail that 2/3 of humanity already has an undefined ego and has no business making any promises at all - ever).
That’s what this post is about.
Why New Years Eve isn’t exactly what we’ve always thought it to be.
The next cycle doesn’t actually begin until 3 weeks into the next calendar year.
But enough from me …
Bumped into this in Vanessa’s ‘Art of Being YOU’ FB group, I’ll let her and Mary Ann (and Ra explain):

This is a note from Mary Ann Winiger. She is a long time student of Ra Uru Hu.
When I learned about the Rave New Year it made so much sense as to why so many people "fail" keeping resolutions or starting something new.
If you are new to Human Design...and even if you aren't...I thought you'd like to understand the movements of the planets and the impact they have on us to complete the cycle through January 22, 2024.
And especially how attempting to create something new may not be in alignment at this time.

Hello to Each of You -
I want to wish you a beautiful holiday season no matter how you spend your days. And to give you a little look at the beginning of January - especially for those of you who may be new to Human Design.
It's a look at the new year from a Human Design perspective.
Soon the world will be celebrating the New Year when the clock strikes midnight on December 31 and we enter the year 2024.
In Human Design the new year does not begin until January 22. Most people are expecting a new beginning on January 1 and it’s a common practice to make New Years resolutions.
This can cause great disappointment because it’s not yet the new beginning. We’re actually still completing last year.
I came across a transit overview that Ra gave for January, 2004:
"The beginning of January begins with tension. It is often so difficult for the psychology of most of us in the west where we’ve been conditioned to celebrate the end of the cycle at the end of December, that we actually begin the new year at a tremendous disadvantage.
Those people that are making New Year’s resolutions, which seems to have become a habit amongst many people in the west, they wake up at the beginning of January and all they have is tension and problems related to the very thing that they’ve decided that they’re going to change.
And of course, invariably most people’s New Year’s resolutions simply fall apart.
And it’s not simply a matter that those are dusted away. It leaves a psychological scar.
It leaves a scar that says I’m not worthy, it leaves a scar that says I don’t have will power, so forth and so on, that I’ve been unable to keep my resolutions." - Ra
These days prior to January 22 are about reflecting on the past year.
As our minds reflect on the last cycle, I feel it’s important to not believe our minds if they start to judge the past year.
To be aware of the mind trying to say that this was “good” or this was “bad”. Or that you should have done “this” or “that”.
To reflect without judgement can be a wonderful journey. And it can be a perfect preparation for whatever comes in 2024.
The first part of January is about us completing the previous cycle so we can begin the new cycle.
Every year we pass through the same Sun/Earth movements. No matter what year it is – there is a specific pattern of the Sun/Earth that gives us themes that we must pass through before we can begin the new experience.
January 1 begins with a lot of tension.
Not a time to make resolutions for the next year!
The Sun/Earth are in the 38 and 39 which is part of the cross of tension.
Below, you will see a very simple overview of what we will pass through until we get to January 22, 2024 – the New Rave Year at 13:18 GMT.
Please note that the dates used below are based on 00:00 GMT so it shows January 23 as the Rave New Year.
You can further investigate these transits and go deeper. [Andrea isn’t planning to - this is plenty for me].
What I have given is a very simple explanation of the themes we meet in order to complete the old year and begin the new year.
The New Rave Year begins when the Sun enters Gate 41 – the initiating codon of all human experience [I have Gate 41 defined]
It is the beginning of a new experience.
The New Rave Year always begins with the Cross of the Unexpected [🥳].
The unexpected is such a beautiful beginning.
When we no longer let our minds run our life, the new – something we have never lived before – is always possible.
It is only when our minds have authority over us that we miss the new because the mind just repeats the same old patterns of behavior.
Meeting life as oneself – whatever type we are and whatever authority we may have is a precious gift.
Not only do we move through life with awareness, but we stay forever young no matter how old our body may be.
When we are grounded and aligned in our strategy and authority, we can meet anything that life brings.
We were born to be able to meet it and we have what we need to meet it.
But we can only meet it as ourselves - otherwise we are tossed around in turbulent waters trying to deal with life.
I resonate so deeply to the word ‘frequency’. To me it is the music that is our unique song that is transmitted when we are living our true nature.
Lao Tzu said "Music in the soul can be heard by the Universe".
For me, self-love is the music of the soul.
I wish everyone the experience of self-love and the continual flowering of it within - especially as we begin the New Rave Year and move a step closer to 2027.
Happy Holidays!
Until next time,
Love from
Mary Ann
