The Simple Truths of Service
This video has me teary eyed every time. Found it years ago.

Re-found it again today thanks to a post in one of the Projector groups - where someone was talking about how their interactions at the Grocery store don't require an invitation (like to have someone scan their stuff at check out)
Personally, I really appreciate the self-checkouts - happy not to interact at all. But this gal's small town in Eastern Europe (I think it's Croatia) hasn't any self-checkouts and her view of the people at the checkout is that they hate their work.
Which reminded me of this video. :)
Applies whether we're being the server or the one being served imho - how we show up has an effect.
That's not to be mistaken for showing up not as ourselves or people pleasing in search of recognition - but I do think that understanding that we're one part of the transaction can be important.
Paying it forward - even in small ways - just because (and that's the tricky part - not having a need for recognition or any outcome at all) can effect how things play out.
