Scrolling through FB, yes I still do that 🤦🏻♀️ … it’s entertaining and idea churning (my newsfeed has been hard curated over years and is pretty dope tbh).
I came to a post in a group I’m still part of called Florida Unschoolers, where the eternally asked (and struggled with) question came -
“How do you all combat the whole ‘your child will not be able to socialize as an adult’ argument with family members who don't agree with unschooling?”
It’s. So. Common.
Most of the replies from people who’ve already deschooled were the flavor of “yeah, I don’t”
Great advice, but also what do ’ya do till you get to that level of comfort.
The admin said, “Google the phrase ‘pass the bean dip’”, which I’d never heard but of course you know what I was compelled to do next …
Headed to GOOGLE! 🙃😋
And found this … the example replies made me giggle.

Perfect way to practice a side-step of any ignorant, intrusive or annoying question about whatever lifestyle choices we’ve made that someone feels entitled to question.
Gawd, I am such a lover of not being “normal” 🤗🥰🤓
