“When you’re looking at your design and you’re looking at these gates, just because they don’t reach out to the other end, just because they’re not colored in, doesn’t mean that they aren’t very, very important for you in your life—they are.
And there is also something else, that the moment that you begin to understand this activation, the moment you begin to understand what happens to you when that particular theme of yours goes to work, is the moment you’re going to be able to recognize every single time that you’re conditioned.
Think about how important that is. One of the easiest tools for us to use in protecting ourselves against conditioning, is to understand what happens to our dormant gates.
Understanding what happens to these themes that become the active theme, the active focus, of the way in which we experience a center. Imagine that you have an open ajna center and you have the 17th gate, which is the gate of Opinions, which is where the Sun is today. And we have changed crosses; we’re in the left angle Cross of Upheaval, turning things upside down.
Now think about the 17th gate. It’s dormant; it’s sitting in an open ajna center. Now, if you ask this person what mind is, you know right away what their theme is, they’re going to tell you mind is about opinions, it’s about logical opinions. Because every time somebody defines their ajna center, the only thing that is consistent, regardless of where the defining comes from, is their theme.
But that also means that they don’t really understand that mind is believing, that mind is knowing, that mind is the many other things that are there. They’re always returning over and over again to their fixed theme. Now remember something, the moment that you have that 17th gate, and the moment that that ajna center is being defined, you’re immediately going to feel the release of that pressure. And your logical opinions are going to start coming out. It’s an indication right then and there that you’re being conditioned.”
