Motivation Color 4 Need
“We’re dealing with a 4th color, and we’re dealing with Need. We do not understand this. All we understand is the homogenized need. We have no real experience of true Need as motivation.
This is one of the most important things to understand about the distortion that we live and what happens to us when we’re in transference. It’s not like this transference to the 1 is really about what the 1 is about. It isn’t.
The 1st color really digs in. That’s what it’s about. It digs in to get rid of ignorance. Not fear, not fear that becomes an overwhelming drive behind all decisions.
No, this is the distortion of the 1st color lived out in transference.
So, here we’re dealing with 4th color beings. And we’re dealing with 4th color beings that in transference are always going to be stuck in fear, the fear martyr, afraid to make a mistake, afraid to challenge, afraid to get it wrong again, afraid to break a bond again.
No cognition, no unique differentiated intelligence guiding it, it’s there in the security and it’s all about motivation.
The true motivation is need. And it’s not neediness. This is the distortion of the 4 when it’s lived out by a 1st color. I mentioned that to the 1st year class. I have this course coming up at the end of February called The Motivations of the Not-Self. Because I think you really need to understand this.
When color was introduced—there are all these people now in Human Design that sort of, maybe, kind of know a little bit of something about color.
It’s like when you open up the JAM Player or you open up the Jovian website you’ve got this living bodygraph and it actually gives you the color of the moment.
That’s something, by the way, which is fascinating. The moment you understand that it’s homogenized, it’s all homogenized—you don’t have a humanity that’s living out their correct motivation—so, all our understandings of these motivations are all distorted.
You [can] notice that yourself. Most people when they get to see what their real motivation is they don’t quite get it, because the only thing they understand about that motivation as a term is the way in which they have experienced it in their culture or society through the transference that distorts it.
Neediness is ugly as a drive, because the moment that neediness is there as a drive there is no intelligence behind it.
This is not about what needs to be dealt with, what needs to be confronted. It is not a specific guided by cognitive potential, no, no, no, it’s just blind neediness.
And of course, we get to see the results. That blind neediness is going to be controlled by the not-self mind in its decision making process. ‘I have an open heart center and I need to prove to everybody.’
The neediness like an endless, endless, endless waterfall never satisfied never satiated, never fulfilled; martyr, martyr, martyr, what suffering that is. Transference, wicked transference, what it robs us of, our unique cognitive potential.
And it’s not like you’re on the design side and you’ve got strategy and authority and the cognition is coming through and you can follow your PHS regimen and you can begin to enhance and work with that, but it’s always there from the moment you enter into that strategy and authority.
But not for the personality; there is no easy panacea, there is no quick fix. It’s why the first year program is about pay attention to personality transference.
This person has to recognize when fear is driving it. It has to recognize it. It has to recognize when somebody brings the fear out of it, puts fear into them so that the fear becomes the drive; the forces around them that are bringing about personality transference.
You cannot be involved in decision making to even begin to have that kind of seeing. These are the steps to awareness. It’s why color transference is such an important technique.
It can take years, by the way. There are some people that get it right away because, guess what, it’s a cognitive pattern, it’s a chain, and it’s designed for it.
There are others that take time, because their minds are so easily distracted, pulled away from being at attention. And in transference the distortion of the personality is enormous.
Correctness is so important. But your mind is healed by knowing its own truth. The sad thing about that is that it’s an ideal for generators. It’s difficult for other types. It’s not really our nature.
It has been quite an ordeal for me over 20 years to really, really, really see myself, because it’s not a big deal for me. It’s not in my genetics to do that. It’s necessary for what it is I do, but then again.
For generators, it’s their world, they’re the creators of life. They’re the ones that spread the deep malaise of transference.
Yet, they are the ones that are here to know themselves. And it is only through this knowing. I know that you can bring peace to a human being by simply being able to give them a technique for their body; what we do with strategy and authority.
They don’t need to get any further. Chances are their minds will never bend.
They will have a better life, they will have less resistance. They will make decisions that are correct for them, despite what their mind might go through.
But to go beyond that, to go here, you have to be willing to take it in and see it. You have to look at your pattern so clearly. You have to recognize your design as your mind works just by watching it.
Oh, you’ll develop your own inner keynotes for when your mind’s doing this or that.
Is it playing out the strategy of this center or that center?
Is it dominated by the sun/earth or is it dominated by the nodal?
Is the seeing influencing the mind?
Is the being influencing the mind?
That the whole decision making process of the not-self is revealed so that it can be shattered, because if you don’t see it, it doesn’t shatter.
If you don’t recognize it as you it will never shatter. You will never be free, not mentally.
This is real work, the dedication of mind to healing itself, because only mind can heal itself. It needs help direction, education, and support. It simply needs to see its own truth.”
