Vanessa (@Bodyvoice) wrote in her The ART of Being YOU FB group -
“This came up in Andrea Goodsaid’s Locals group in her Q&A Sunday today. I had written it in one of my art sketchbooks so I'm thinking I pulled it off an audio.
Thanks Andrea for fostering these kinds of discussions.
Thought I'd type it up for all of you. It's another explanation of the connection of Melancholy in Individual Circuitry to Creativity. (In the "Featured" section on the Group page you can find all the Gates and Channels in Individual Circuitry)
👉🏽 Individuality comes with a specific chemistry, a chemistry we describe as Melancholy, as sadness.
Anybody who is carrying any Individuality no matter how much they have is carrying the chemistry of melancholy.
Melancholy and Creativity are the SAME thing. They are both byproducts of the chemistry of being Individual.
It can be devastating if you attach reasons to the chemistry of being Individual. In other words, the sensation of melancholy, the feelings of sadness are part of the chemistry.
There is no "reason", but the Not-self is going to jump in on that sadness and use it to support or not some decision or not, it's going to make-up a reason.
When that happens you make a decision to fix or indulge in the sadness because.
So you take uppers or drink or overeat or sex to make the sadness go away. But it never goes away. It's an imprint. There's nothing to fix.
The moment that you stop placing a reason on the sadness is the moment that you transform it into the muse.
My words:
When you try to fix or indulge in the sadness, give reasons and make decisions around it, you repress your creativity. The very thing the chemistry is for is not expressed. The Creative impulse becomes depressed.
P.S. If you're new to HD or to this Group, put "melancholy " in search bar. There's quite a bit here on the subject.”
