This is a post from the VIP projector group - some comments from the original thread in the pictures.
This “Notself” of the defined AND undefined centers is what we begin looking at in our Notself Saturday zooms.
I can add the link to the video Heidi recommended as a comment here 👍🏼
”A gentle reminder: just because something in your chart is defined, does not exempt it from being not-self. Both defined and undefined parts can be not-self. Here’s the main issue: not-self defined aspects of the chart are going to be reliably, and persistently, not-self. The conditioning leads to chronic dysfunction.
Yes, it is easier for the undefined parts to be conditioned, but it would be a mistake to dismiss significant conditioning of a defined center. Most often this happens through trauma and suffering.
A traumatized defined spleen, for example, is often enough associated with food and substance addictions and the like. When an essential aspect of a person like the survival meter, the spleen, has been affected by trauma, it can lead to persistence in mistaking self-damaging behavior as essential for survival. Think alcoholism or opiate addiction. Self-medication becomes the ersatz go-to persistent, reliable solution. The trauma leads to mis-identifying ‘knowing’ what is good for you.
Yes, while the open spleen does not have an immediate, reliable, way of knowing what is bad for you, open centers are sources of lessons to learn that lead to wisdom. And here’s the twist: open centers can learn and evolve understanding. Because they are not reliably persistent in their energy, whatever is malfunctioning often does not become chronic. Fears teach, and open spleens are very familiar with fear. Ironically, the not-self defined spleen can mistake addictive behavior for having fear under control.
The "damaged" defined spleen can keep unhealthy habits going for a lifetime with no intervention.
The one area where the undefined spleen is particularly vulnerable to chronic issues, is the defined spleen of another person. The safety and security of being near the defined spleen is extremely hard to disengage from once an attachment or dependency has evolved. Many a toxic relationship can result from an undefined spleen becoming attached to any spleen, dysfunctional, traumatized, and not-self, or not.
This is why working on the seven-year deconditioning experiment is crucial for all types, and all configurations. Not-self comes in many forms, and the deconditioning process will introduce unique challenges for each and everyone of us, whether we have a certain center defined, or not.”
