Trial & error for the Win! 🤩
And I have a marketing analogy to drop in at the end 🙃
So, since Jag’s been here, going on walks is now a thing.
Short, long, some part of the day - doesn’t matter. Which suits my un-scheduled days quite fine.
But we were having a problem called “stubborn chihuahua” …
Jag is so chill about going wherever and changing it up in the moment.
Chachi on the other hand 🤓
Literally any change in direction and he resists, plants himself in place (as if 8lbs of ornery is any use); unconvincable.
Really - until today - that only tended to get him dragged along, or unceremoniously picked up by his harness and carried. Not that he minded being carried, but it was contentious and plus he gets heavy pretty quick.
So he was finding himself left behind. Possibly also okay, but I like options - and having him be a headache on walks, well sometimes you gotta walk on a leash as a dog … it is what it is.
Yesterday, they both went and it was an Andrea drag fest. Each going in their own direction to sniff this and that - getting their leashes tangled … me contorting and spinning and repositioning legs to not end up in a total tangled mess.
Not fun. And exhausting.
Not for me.
Sometimes though - it’s the equipment or the system that needs a tweak, not “I hate walking the dogs” that’s true.
I don’t mind walking dogs, I never have; off and on all my adult life there have been dogs to walk.
And it suits how I’m built tbh.
But see the other main problem - besides temperament 🤓 - was that they naturally have completely different gaits (duh Andrea 🙄)
And trying to sync that … well, good luck and I also have a bridge for sale.
This morning though, I remembered that we had a retractable leash for Chachi - we literally never walked him though (because small dog, big backyard - leash for road trips), so it was stashed away.
As luck would have it, I’d spotted it while looking for something else a couple days back and knew right where to find it.
👉🏼 Got the leash.
👉🏼 Headed out.
👉🏼 Had the most effortless walk.
Walking dogs is easy again. 💕
And now here comes the marketing analogy.
See it was the tools, the system that changed my experience of walking these two together.
And for over a decade now, I’ve been guiding people who wanted their marketing to be like me walking these two is now - better suited to them, pleasant even.
Always takes some trial and error, which now having Human Design understanding, I can see not everyone comes as natural to as folks with a 3rd line (trial and error, investigative) profile like mine… Okay, so you need help. 🤷🏻♀️
And I know that sometimes (maybe all times?) it can feel overwhelming.
But I can also say that I think the possibilities of there being puzzle pieces that can suit pretty much anyone - are out there.
The opportunity for having autonomy and being self-sufficient has never been greater.
Systems that take how you’re built into consideration are, I think, the key.
