Thoughts on course creation & invitations
FB post this morning -
Someone asked (or has it been a couple of someones š¤) whether I had any plans to teach what Iāve been doing with all this painting recently.
She suggested a video course.
Now Iām no stranger to offering recorded classes. Not at all. And it was amusing to watch my Mind want to say all the usual things.
Especially ābut Iām just a beginner, so many people know more than meā
And ābut itās already all over YouTube š¤ā
Both of those things ARE true.
Iām about 6 weeks into this dot painting adventure.
And it is all over the interwebs.
But honestly, I know better. And Iāve been guiding people away from that Mind chatter for at least 15 years now.
Mostly in the online marketing and related tech realmā¦ but itās literally the same thing.
Learned this first hand when I was teaching people āhow toā Wordpress, it wasnāt like there wasnāt SO MUCH already available to follow along ā¦ and I surely wasnāt an expert with all the answers.
But still, they wanted it from me.
Spotted this [screenshot] in a group for beginner dot art people. Itās a group of 78k š with lots of freely shared info and short how to videos.
Great reminder that it doesnāt matter how many other people have already ādone a thingā ā¦ thereās always people who need it delivered from who and in the way thatās ideal for them.
Will I teach what I donāt even recognize Iāve learned? š¤·š»āāļø
Dude ā¦ Right Mind here ā¦ where would I begin.
And undefined ego - long over (well years anyway) making promisesā¦ or scheduling pretty much anything.
Not gonna lie though - something in person could be fun.
Did already start imagining how that could be organized and happen efficiently (hello 17/62 and Gate 43 šš) and in a way that everyone would have all the things they need right at their fingertips (19/49 is alive and well in me big time)
I think those thoughts started with the bag of many (too many lol) tiny paint pots that I (3rd line style) ordered from Amazon.
And then I think (Open Head) things like - ooh now how fun might it be to do something like that mixed with Human Design conversation.
But in person.
Oh how the hours might fly by š
A retreat weekend perhaps š¤
The in Projectors in Business I added -
Important reminder š¤
And I think Iāll add an important detail here. A projector friendly one.
The original gal who said āvideo courseā ā¦ I asked, āis it me you especially wanted to learn from?ā
Because āyou should make a courseā is not an actual (fully ripened) invitation.
Now if she says āyes, and Iām buying it as soon as youāre selling itā to that question ā¦
Or āyeah, actually I would love to fly you out to teach me in person.ā
Or āyes, in fact I have a group of people Iād like to do it with and I know you can guide usā
Etc ā¦
okay sweet, THAT is an invitation with recognition.
Now my Authority (emo in my case) has something to chew on. Doesnāt mean itās gonna say yes, but itās worth consideration (energy).
And STILL ā¦ when/if I get a yesā¦ Iād (personally) be selling the ādo it live with me while I record itā version before ever lifting a finger on the content.
Because making a course and then trying to sell it - to me, while quite the usual way of doing thingsā¦
Imho is backwards.
