You CAN'T be anything you want to be (American Dream heresy?)
One of the Rubin Report regulars (thanks Casey if you're seeing this :) ) ... started sharing posts from his Locals into other Locals, which in itself is a possibility for drawing people into our own spaces worth considering as connections on Locals (and Locals itself ) expand.
I'm not quite ready to do that yet - in my experience, that's something that only works well when you're posting in a space where you've added value first - and also if it's a community of people who might have an interest in where you'll be pointing them. Doesn't have to be a direct match on topic ... but knowing who's in the room definitely can help with being a value-add vs. an interruption (friction in marketing is a deterrent - same as it is anywhere else in life, eh?)
All that to share the context of the link I'm sharing here - which IS from a Locals ... it's from THIS Locals.
Yep, I'm discovering the possibility of repurposing my own content :D - even here.
I'm already what I'd call a fairly well-practiced "repurposer" ... I don't really have any requirement that my content be 100% original or 100% unique (something most people get to unlearn and de-condition from after traditional schooling btw) ... only that it be potentially interesting to engage for the people who arrive.
And I also know full well that me (or you) showing up and adding our POV with curated materials - can ONLY ever be a unique expression anyway, so there's really nothing to sweat in that direction. Ever.
Back to this Planet Andrea post that I found as I was wandering through the earliest posts here...
I'm going to share the punchline to the video -
"You CANNOT be anything you want to be, but you can be - A LOT more - of who you already are"
[which btw I can see ties really well into the argument AGAINST equity (not equality, equity) ... a rant for a different post or video perhaps.]
Read and listen more here - maybe you'll be as inspired (or re-inspired) as I was this morning. 💜
I appreciate you!
