Carving a path for ourselves.
[originally posted to FB a year ago today - just swiped from my FB memories ... the weather ... and the grass ... is exactly the same this month, this year]
Yesterday I found a tiny window between the heat and the rain (it’s been raining almost every day here for weeks and when it isn’t, it’s blisteringly hot and soupy - bleh)
It was a window perfect for carving Chachi & myself a path to the #tinyhousestudio in the too-tall-for-Chihuahuas grass (it didn’t photograph quite how I thought it might 🤷🏻♀️)
And it got me to thinking.
About my Doing Business as Yourself brand and what me being a stand for others learning about themselves through the lens of Human Design, finding their own path and discovering that, at its core, means seeing new possibilities around -
“Setting up their business to serve them”
It means a lot.
Me being a stand for that.
TBH, I forget sometimes 😌
Here’s what happened just before mowing (could be another reason I was mowing lol ... mindless activity is supportive to my “Left brain” cognition)
Maybe you’re familiar with the marketing funnels that lead to an exploratory free (sales) call?
Well... tbh
The whole “we can’t give you any details until you book a clarity call” model is SO flipping annoying to me.
Today, and also last week - I ran into (via FB ad 👍🏼) two would-be-perfect-for-my-peeps type programs.
Only problem? ... even the simplest questions can’t be answered by messenger because their system isn’t built to flow with anomalies.
Newsflash - I’m always an anomaly 😂
“I don’t really need a call, I just want to know if you have an affiliate or referral program”
“hi so nice to hear from you! schedule a call and we can see what’s up!”
Um 😐
Here’s the thing.
I do almost nothing on the phone - like don’t even talk to my family on the phone - that level of no phone and me.
And I also schedule zero I don’t have to.
So so much can be done via messenger.
The question I got back last week after explaining that was -
“Do you really mostly sell on messenger?”
“Yeah I really do.”
Small and large sales. But mostly larger ones are what takes some connecting via messenger.
It allows for -
That’s my path.
Which puts me at odds with the “status quo” here’s how you do it cookie-cutter folks.
But that has to be okay eh?
Use technology yes.
And also -
Carve your own path.
There’s some other stuff going on in the mix here related to connection and “warm” flowing both ways.
But with these ladies anyway, we’re in a bit of a holding pattern - I can’t buy their thing without getting on the phone ... it's how they have it set up.
And people who require me to get on the phone - dealbreaker ... they simply are not for me.
👉🏼 Not to buy things
👉🏼 not to sell things
👉🏼 not even to “be friends”
Which is a whole other tangent.
Short version - I have people I’ve met online who I’ve rarely or never spoken to in person - and yet, am very very fond of.
Eventually I do get on Zoom with people who’ve become connected (‘friends’ is this super loaded word for me - my theory, HD peeps, is because - not 4th line ... a rant for another time perhaps 😋)
Or sometimes we have our first meeting (more like a reunion feel) at some in person event or other.
But that’s not always true.
And pretty much 💯 there’s a transaction first. In either direction.
So, do I accomplish most of what I do online via messenger? - Yep messenger and groups 👍🏼
There’s some automation that could be put in place (still) but at least some high tech without some middle warming up that can be on my non-scheduled life’s terms?
Crucial.
It’s part of how I take care of me...
You can also carve your own path 🤗
